New Camera!

I got a new camera for my birthday! I am so pumped! I have had a huge love for photography for a very long time. I always am looking for a new photography blog. I have wanted a digital SLR camera for a very long time. I found a refurbished body with a new lens, and I am loving my Canon Rebel. I made the template of my blog simple, since it will probably load a little slower with the photos I post on it. I hope to blog more now that I have that to blog about. We haven't really been cooking much interesting food lately...we have been grilling, and making stuff already on my blog. Hopefully I will have the energy to blog some soon, I do have a few recipes/photos that I need to blog about. The weather has been exhausting! It has been really hot. Unpacking is SO slow, we haven't had a solid weekend to unpack yet...2 weekends ago I played in my friend Kayla's wedding (so fun) in Brookhaven, and this past weekend was my birthday, then the next day I had the HOTTEST gig of my life in a very random small town south of Batesville. It was 96, and my bridge flew off my violin and almost went into the cracks of the porch! :-O Thankfully that was before the wedding started...crazy bride...I couldn't believe she had an outdoor wedding in that weather...the poor groomsmen were sweating so badly in their tuxes! It was in the sun too! (I was on the covered porch with a fan and I was dying of heat so I can only imagine how awful it was for the guests and the wedding party...
I have another wedding on the 4th, and yet another wedding on the 11th. Cha-ching!$ :-) It somewhat makes up for the lack of lessons I have in the summer. :) Summers are a little tough, but thanks to Madison's beetle pinning job (no, I'm serious...) it has been helpful to have more income.

Here's a few pictures I have taken:
Beautiful wreaths on the doors of the church from Kayla's wedding:

So I'm slightly obsessed with taking ring pictures at the moment haha:

She had my FAVORITE flowers at her wedding - Gerbera Daisies :-)

And here's a [weird] but fun photo I took of my rings on a peach...I was playing with the aperture and such.

anyone know what kind of flower this is? I found it on campus and thought it was really interesting and pretty!

Believe it or not, the photo below is unedited...the flower was that bright! :)

24

I was born 24 years ago today! As Madison put the candles on the cake, we realized...this is the last year to use one box of candles! haha.
Although my mom would possibly strike me with a lightening bolt for this photo, I think it's sweet. Me on my very first birthday with my older sister and momma:

Birthdays have been really difficult ever since my mom passed. (my dad is spacey - I didn't get anything from him except a phone call because he mailed my stuff yesterday - that's just him, it happens every time, but it is SO hard to have that instead of being spoiled rotten by my sweet momma).

Farmer's Market gig

We had a blast at the Mid-Town farmer's market! To make a long story short, I got an email from my friend Marco telling me about an opportunity to play at the Farmer's Market for tips and produce. I emailed the lady, and I got us all set to play. A few days after I got her response, a lady came up to me in church and introduced herself to me, it was the same lady! I just started playing in church a month ago, so she made the connection.

Anyways, from 8-11, Madison and I entertained the farmers and customers. It was SO fun! Some of my students came out, and we made $65.00 in tips and got a ton of produce and some pretty sunflowers, as seen above! We were shocked!!! We had an amazing time chatting with people and playing Celtic fiddle, kids' music (it was kids' day), folk, etc. We'll be back in August and September to do it again! :-)
