I have sent information about my blog to some old family friends who I have recently reconnected with, so I thought I would write a little summary about the last few years:
I met Madison Taylor in college, actually I can't remember not knowing him in college, because we lived on brother/sister floors, fischer 2e and 2w at Wheaton College. I don't remember meeting him, since there were 50 guys & 50 girls to meet, but we were friends within a few weeks.
I earned my bachelor of music degree, specializing in music performance (viola). I took violin lessons my senior year, and am planning to teach both violin & viola soon (this fall). I took lots of pedagogy/early childhood music classes, and really figured out through the classes and my practicum that this is what I was made to do.
Madison & I had our dream wedding on May 31 of this year, and now here I am, sitting in the cool AC in Oxford, MS. Madison got into the law school program here at Ole Miss, and I am finding some great connections for teaching and other gigs. I met a man before I got down here through another person I met through the music program of Ole Miss. This man, Irwin Bell, was a graduate from Wheaton in the 50's. He is a violin teacher down here and has helped me SO much with setting up a studio this fall, giving me his waiting list students, etc. He has a very impressive musical background and I am privileged to be able to have this opportunity.
but
Right now, I'm just settling into our cute rental house, just a mile from campus. We have been having fun being able to have some time off before our busy lives take off in just a few weeks. This summer we went to Destin, FL with his family, and of course during wedding frenzy time, we hung out with my family a lot. We are looking forward to getting into a routine, although like I said, we're enjoying the time off.
Well, that should mostly catch you up to date...hope everyone is doing well!
Also, here are a few pictures of our wedding and our house!
